The Armada Platinum Reserve has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Sequoia doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

Full-time four-wheel drive is optional on the Armada. Full-time four-wheel drive gives added traction for safety in all conditions, not just off-road, like the only system available on the Sequoia.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Nissan vehicles are better in initial quality than Toyota vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Nissan above average in initial quality. With 26 more problems per 100 vehicles, Toyota is rated lower.

Both the Armada and Sequoia have a standard automatic start/stop engine feature to stop unnecessary fuel waste and pollution at stoplights and heavy traffic. The Armada has a standard disable switch for the system, so a driver can keep the engine from shutting off when the vehicle stops temporarily.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Nissan Armada uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The Sequoia requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

The Armada has 1.1 gallons more fuel capacity than the Sequoia (23.6 vs. 22.5 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Armada has standard front and rear stabilizer bars, which help keep the Armada flat and controlled during cornering. The Sequoia’s suspension doesn’t offer a rear stabilizer bar.

For greater off-road capability the Armada SV has a 1.2 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Sequoia SR5 (9.6 vs. 8.4 inches), allowing the Armada to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged. The Armada SL’s minimum ground clearance is .8 inch higher than on the Sequoia TRD Pro (9.9 vs. 9.1 inches).

The Armada has 2.4 inches more front headroom, 2.6 inches more front legroom, 1.6 inches more rear headroom, 1.9 inches more rear shoulder room, .6 inches more third row headroom, .8 inches more third row hip room and .5 inches more third row shoulder room than the Sequoia.

The Armada’s cargo area provides more volume than the Sequoia.

The Armada has a standard third row seat which folds flat into the floor. This completely clears a very large cargo area quickly. The Sequoia doesn’t offer seats that fold into the floor.

Pressing a switch automatically lowers the Armada SL/Platinum/PRO-4X’s second and third row seats, to make changing between passengers and cargo easier. The Sequoia doesn’t offer automatic folding second row seats.

The Armada’s standard Infiniti Intelligent Key allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Smart Key System standard on the Sequoia doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

The Armada’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Sequoia’s standard manually variable intermittent wipers have to be constantly adjusted.
