For enhanced safety, the front and second-row seat shoulder belts of the Nissan Armada have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Jeep Wagoneer doesn’t offer pretensioners for its second-row seat belts.

The Armada Platinum Reserve has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Wagoneer doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

The Armada’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Wagoneer.

Both the Armada and the Wagoneer have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available all wheel drive and around view monitors.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Nissan vehicles are better in initial quality than Jeep vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Nissan above average in initial quality. With 34 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jeep is rated below average.

From surveys of all its subscribers, Consumer Reports’ January 2024 Auto Issue reports that Nissan vehicles are more reliable than Jeep vehicles. Consumer Reports ranks Nissan 9 places higher in reliability than Jeep.

The Armada’s 3.5 turbo V6 produces 5 more horsepower (425 vs. 420) and 48 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 468) than the Wagoneer’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder. The Armada’s 3.5 turbo V6 produces 16 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 500) than the Grand Wagoneer’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Nissan Armada uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended for maximum performance). The Grand Wagoneer requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Nissan Armada, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the Wagoneer.

For greater off-road capability the Armada SV has a 1.3 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Wagoneer (9.6 vs. 8.3 inches), allowing the Armada to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Armada is 5.1 inches shorter than the Wagoneer, making the Armada easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Armada has .3 inches more front headroom, 2.9 inches more front legroom and .1 inches more third row hip room than the Wagoneer.

The Armada has a standard third row seat which folds flat into the floor. This completely clears a very large cargo area quickly. The Wagoneer doesn’t offer seats that fold into the floor.

The Armada’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Wagoneer’s (8500 vs. 6130 pounds).

The Armada’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Wagoneer’s standard power windows’ rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

The Armada’s standard Infiniti Intelligent Key allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Keyless Enter-N-Go standard on the Wagoneer doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

The Armada’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Wagoneer’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.
