Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Ariya has standard Rear Automatic Braking that use rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically apply the brakes to prevent a collision. The Eletre doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

Both the Ariya and the Eletre have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, front seat center airbag, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

The Ariya comes with free roadside assistance for 3 years 36,000 miles. Nissan will send help if you run out of gas, need a jump-start, lock your keys in or need any assistance on the road. Lotus doesn’t give free roadside assistance for the Eletre.

Nissan’s powertrain warranty covers the Ariya 2 years and 24,000 miles longer than Lotus covers the Eletre. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 5 years or 60,000 miles. Coverage on the Eletre ends after only 3 years or 36,000 miles.

Nissan pays for scheduled maintenance on the Ariya for 2 years and 24,000 miles. Nissan will pay for tire rotations, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Lotus doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Eletre.

There are over 28 times as many Nissan dealers as there are Lotus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Ariya’s warranty.

The Ariya can travel with zero emissions for 205 to 289 miles (dependent on model). The Eletre can’t move without running its internal combustion engine.

The Ariya has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The Eletre doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

The Nissan Ariya may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 800 to 1150 pounds less than the Lotus Eletre.

The Ariya is 1 foot, 6 inches shorter than the Eletre, making the Ariya easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Ariya has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the Eletre with its rear seat up (27.9 vs. 24 cubic feet). The Ariya has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the Eletre with its rear seat folded (59.7 vs. 54 cubic feet).

A maintenance reminder system is standard on the Ariya to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals for tire rotation, based on odometer mileage. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Lotus doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Eletre.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Ariya has a standard rear wiper. The Eletre doesn’t offer a rear wiper.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Ariya has standard extendable sun visors. The Eletre doesn’t offer extendable visors.

The Ariya is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Eletre doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
