For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Nissan Leaf are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Dodge Charger doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The Leaf has standard Active Head Restraints, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Active Head Restraints system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The Charger doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

Nissan pays for scheduled maintenance on the Leaf for 3 years and 36,000 miles. Nissan will pay for tire rotations, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Dodge doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Charger.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Nissan vehicles are better in initial quality than Dodge vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Nissan above average in initial quality. With 135 more problems per 100 vehicles, Dodge is rated below average.

On the EPA test cycle the Leaf gets better mileage than the Charger:

The Leaf has a standard locking charge port with a power remote release convenient to the driver. The Charger doesn’t have a locking charge port. A locking charge port prevents tampering and damage.

For better maneuverability, the Leaf S’ turning circle is 5.2 feet tighter than the Charger Coupe’s (34.8 feet vs. 40 feet). The Leaf SV PLUS’ turning circle is 3.8 feet tighter than the Charger Coupe’s (36.2 feet vs. 40 feet).

The Nissan Leaf may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1850 to 2200 pounds less than the Dodge Charger.

The Leaf is 2 feet, 6.1 inches shorter than the Charger Daytona Scat Pack Coupe, making the Leaf easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces. The Leaf is 2 feet, 6.2 inches shorter than the Charger Daytona R/T Coupe.

The Leaf is 9.3 inches narrower than the Charger, making the Leaf easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

The Leaf has 2.1 inches more front headroom and .4 inches more rear headroom than the Charger.

The Leaf’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children from operating them. Dodge does not offer a locking feature on the Charger’s standard power windows.

The Leaf has two rear doors to provide better access for cargo and rear passengers. The Charger doesn’t offer rear doors.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Leaf has a standard rear wiper. The Charger doesn’t offer a rear wiper.
