2026 Nissan Rogue Plug-In Hybrid
2026 Lexus TX

Safety

The Nissan Rogue Plug-In Hybrid has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The TX doesn’t offer a front passenger side knee airbag.

The Rogue Plug-In Hybrid has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The TX doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, Full-Time Four-Wheel Drive is standard on the Rogue Plug-In Hybrid. But it costs extra on the TX.

Both the Rogue Plug-In Hybrid and the TX have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

Warranty

There are over 4 times as many Nissan dealers as there are Lexus dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Rogue Plug-In Hybrid’s warranty.

Engine

The Rogue Plug-In Hybrid’s 2.4 DOHC 4-cylinder hybrid produces 15 lbs.-ft. more torque (332 vs. 317) than the TX 350’s standard 2.4 turbo 4-cylinder.

Fuel Economy and Range

On the EPA test cycle the Rogue Plug-In Hybrid running its gasoline engine gets better mileage than the TX running its gasoline engine:

The Rogue Plug-In Hybrid can travel with zero emissions on electricity, only, on a full charge for 38 miles. The TX 550h+ CVT has to start its internal combustion engine after only 33 miles.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Nissan Rogue Plug-In Hybrid uses regular unleaded gasoline. The TX requires premium, which can cost on average about 84.9 cents more per gallon.

Brakes and Stopping

For better stopping power the Rogue Plug-In Hybrid’s standard front brake rotors are larger than those on the TX:

Tires and Wheels

The Rogue Plug-In Hybrid’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the TX’s standard 55 series tires.

The Rogue Plug-In Hybrid has a standard easy tire fill system. When inflating the tires, the vehicle’s integrated tire pressure sensors keep track of the pressure as the tires fill and tell the driver when the tires are inflated to the proper pressure. The TX doesn’t offer vehicle monitored tire inflation.

Suspension and Handling

For greater off-road capability the Rogue Plug-In Hybrid has a greater minimum ground clearance than the TX 550h+ Luxury (7.9 vs. 7.7 inches), allowing the Rogue Plug-In Hybrid to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Chassis

The Rogue Plug-In Hybrid is 1 foot, 5.7 inches shorter than the TX, making the Rogue Plug-In Hybrid easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the Rogue Plug-In Hybrid uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The TX doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

Ergonomics

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the TX Premium/Luxury/F Sport, the Rogue Plug-In Hybrid Platinum has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat and outside mirror angle and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.
